ABSTRACT
Presently, in the University of Benin health centre, patients have to be physically present at the health centre in order to access doctors so that they could communicate their health conditions or to gain health related information and this has had considerable effect on the influence of utilizing the health clinics due to problems of increased cost, inconvenience and prolonged wait time that is experienced by the patient. The research develops a mobile application which sets up online communication between a doctor and a patient. This application helps patients to ask health related questions, communicate their health conditions and state their concerns to doctors. This application will facilitate the patient’s easy access to doctors without making any physical visits or appointments once registered. If the patient has a valid account, patients can proceed to make a request to begin an interactive session with a doctor that is available. In addition, doctors must also have a valid account that has undergone verification from the admin before the doctor can receive any incoming request and maintaining a vital communication link between doctors and patients. The research provides solutions that eliminates these problems and provides more flexibility in accessing Doctors. The system was developed using the Javascript framework reactnative for the frontend and javascript through nodeJS for the backend.
