ABSTRACT
Electrical resistivity method using dipole-dipole and schlumberger configuration of vertical electrical sounding(VES) were carried out to evaluate the near-surface structural and lithological features suitable for groundwater development in UBTH Ugbowo, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. Three dipole-dipole profiles each of length 250m using a total of fifteen sounding locations along the profile lines were carried out.
The resulting dipole-dipole datas were interpreted using Diprowin software while that of the VES data followed two stages of qualitative and quantitative data interpretation using Resist Software .Dipole-dipole interpretation results indicate the occurrence of local fractures associated with sandstone while VES interpretation reveal the sedimentary areas of sandy clay.
