ABSTRACT

Pesticide contamination in rice presents a significant concern globally due to its potential health implications and environmental impact. This study aimed to assess the pesticide residue levels in rice samples collected from various regions using advanced analytical techniques. A comprehensive analysis was conducted to determine the presence and concentration of pesticides, focusing on commonly used agricultural chemicals. Samples were collected from diverse agricultural settings, including conventional and organic farming systems, to evaluate the efficacy of different cultivation practices in reducing pesticide contamination. Analytical methods such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) were employed for precise quantification of pesticide residues. The study also investigated factors influencing pesticide accumulation in rice, such as soil properties, climatic conditions, and agricultural practices. Furthermore, potential health risks associated with the detected pesticide levels were assessed through risk characterization and exposure analysis. The findings provide valuable insights into the extent of pesticide contamination in rice and underscore the importance of implementing sustainable agricultural practices to mitigate environmental pollution and safeguard public health.
