ABSTRACT
Selection of a waste management strategy for a region is a difficult decision that must take into account various frequently contradictory targets and tasks. For this reason, Multi-criteria analysis is used. This project shows the use of AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) which is a method of the MCDMA(Multi-Criteria Decision Making Analysis) to get desired weights for the various criteria for Disposal of Solid Waste for Sapele road area of the city of Benin City. Edo State.
The project involved use of questionnaires and with the help of the waste workers, and the indigenes of Sapele road residence, we were able to get some ideas about the criteria and options for the disposal method of solid waste. With the use of AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) we could obtain the various criteria relative weights of our criteria and also the consistency ratio. We went further using the MACBETH rule to then properly analyze our options to arrive at the best method for disposing of the solid waste at Sapele road, Benin City.
