ABSTRACT
The study examined the fluoride content in underground water sources in the Iga rra community. Water samples were obtained from both wells and boreholes in fou r different locations in the community. Spectrophotometric method of analysis w as employed in the determination of the fluoride content with the aid of SPADNS reagent. The study reveals the concentration of fluoride in the wells considere d to range from 0.14 mg/L to 0.64 mg/L while the values for the borehole range f rom 0.23 mg/L to 0.53 mg/L. A comparison of the fluoride content obtained in th is study with WHO water quality standards (0.5-1.5 mg/L) for majority of wells a nd boreholes were below it.
