Summary
The study examined variables of factors influencing the occupational stress among secondary school teachers in Benin Metropolis Four hypotheses were formulated and tested. The instrument used in eliciting information was a questionnaire titled: Factors Influencing the Occupational Stress among Secondary School Teachers Questionnaire (FIOSSSTQ)”. The instrument has two sections. The population of the study comprises A total number of Two thousand Three Hundred and Ninety Six (2396) teachers are in Benin Metropolis. Multi-stage sampling technique was adopted in selecting the required sample for the study. At the first stage, thirteen (13) pubic secondary schools in the area will be used for the study. The second stage stratified sampling techniques will be used to categorise the respondents according to the sex (Male and Female). At the third stage, 10% of the total respondents of male teachers (125) and of female teachers (122) will be randomly selected through simple random sampling techniques. In the data analysis, all hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance and analyzed using one sample t-test.
