ABSTRACT
The research project focused on the determinant of job satisfaction and employee engagement among nurses in University of Benin teaching hospital (UBTH). Survey research design was employed to collect data from the participants through questionnaires to gain insights into the determinants of job satisfaction and employee engagement among nurses in University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). The study investigated various determinants, such as support and encouragement, sense of autonomy, empowerment, and opportunities for professional growth. Findings from the data collected from respondents shed more light on their challenges that positively impacted their job satisfaction and engagement levels. The findings generated through this research effort provided a broad understanding of the experiences and perspectives of the nurses working in the University of Benin teaching hospital (UBTH). By analyzing the collected data, the study shed light on the challenges that nurses encountered in their day-to-day roles. The study's findings on determinants of job satisfaction and employee engagement highlighted their reciprocal relationship and its impact on patient care quality. The study recommended the fostering of positive relationships for both dependent and independent variables. Further research avenues include exploring cross-cultural differences, assessing technology's role, and investigating interventions to enhance well-being. Such endeavors contribute to optimizing nurse experiences and ultimately improving healthcare outcomes.
