ABSTRACT
Thisstudywasdesignedwiththepurposeoffindingtheconcentrationof vitamin C otherwise called ascorbic acid in some fruits and also knowing which fruit has the highest concentration of Vitamin C and which one has the lowest. Six different fruits were used in this study namely; grape, lemon, orange,guava,pineappleandpawpaw.
However, the concentration of ascorbic acid in these fruits was determined by spectrophotometric method and 2,6 dichlorophenolindophenol (DCPIP) was used as an indicator. The concentrations of ascorbic acid of the fruits were: 1.42mg, 3.40mg, 1.34mg, 2.96mg, 0.85mg and 2.59mg in lemon,pawpaw,orange,grape,pineappleandguavarespectively.
