The current 300 and 400 graphic design studios in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts lacks the sufficient amount of workstations required for an effective Graphic Design study and delivery. Focused on promoting effective learning, the 2023/2024 graduating students decided to carry out the special project of designing and improving on the current workstation by providing more work spaces to aid in better effectiveness for learning. This will be achieved by providing students with the required work spaces and equipment including studio chairs, desks, electrical fittings e.t.c. Through this initiative, the goal is to foster a more conducive space for creativity, collaboration and skill development among graphic design students. Recognizing the critical role of the workstation space in fostering creativity and productivity. By incorporating collaborative design concepts to create a conducive and efficient workspace that caters to the unique needs of graphic design students. The project will involve a thorough analysis of existing studio conditions and how to improve on them. The anticipated outcome is an improved workstation that not only supports effective learning but also inspires a culture of creativity and within the academic setting. The project’s impact will be assessed by the overall design of the workstation spaces. It is hoped that when these facilities are put in place, the studio will inspire as well as boost creativity in both the current and future graphic design students in the department.
