ABSTRACT
 

In this project an Automatic Phase Selector (APS) system integrated with an alternative power supply to enhance power reliability in residential and commercial setting, was design and simulated.

This system implements a microcontroller to achieve control over the switching process and an LCD for the interface with the system. The process involved designing a system after wide study and proper parameters selection, integrating a microcontroller for real-time monitoring and triggering, using code in C language and providing features for easy activation and deactivation. The project and its individual components were also been tested at every stage.
 The project satisfied the aim for which it was embarked upon, from the tests carried out, it was able to switch efficiently under the specified parameters, choosing the best phase for power supply when there is fault in any of the mains power source, thereby serving as means enhancing power reliability in residential and commercial settings and proved to be versatile in providing an uninterrupted power supply system.
