ABSTRACT

Managing personal finances effectively is crucial for financial stability, yet many individuals struggle with tracking expenses and adhering to budgets. This project focuses on the design and development of a personal finance dashboard that provides real-time expense tracking to help users gain better control over their financial activities. The system is built using React.js for the frontend and Node.js with MongoDB for the backend, ensuring a scalable and responsive user experience. Key features include secure user authentication, budget management, expense categorization, and real-time budget alerts using Socket.IO. The dashboard provides an intuitive interface where users can visualize their financial data, monitor spending trends, and receive instant notifications when exceeding predefined budget limits. The integration of WebSockets enables real-time updates, ensuring users have up-to-date insights into their financial activities. This project aims to bridge the gap between financial planning and user-friendly technology by offering an interactive and automated solution for expense tracking. The developed system enhances financial awareness, promotes better spending habits, and serves as a foundational tool for personal financial management.
