SUMMARY
The design and manufacture of an improved incinerator was successful carried out using locally sourced materials. The fabricated incinerator is portable, economic friendly and easy to operate making it suitable for domestic use. The selected chemicals for the scrubbers where found to reduce the pollution through the release of harmless gas flue during incineration test of the manufactured device. Test of the incinerator was successfully carried out with paper, nylon and textile wastes collected from households and each waste material was found to totally burnout within the combustion chamber. The ash was properly collected in the ash tray was observed to have reduced in mass and were taken out to be disposed into landfills. There was limitation in the test of the expelled fumes for harmful substances due to the unavailability chromatographer but from observation it was clear that final gas expelled was void of harmful substances. This limitation can be rectified by making resources available for proper gas tests.
