ABSTRACT
One of the challenges healthcare providers face in delivering care and the operators in ensuring operational effectiveness is how best to schedule the various medical duties. The scheduling of medical duties affects the optimal use of personnel, patient’s satisfaction and the running of the system. The General Practice Clinic known as G.P.C, University Of Benin Teaching Hospital is still using a manual scheduling process. This scheduling process capability often produce errors leading to staff clashes, thereby rendering the resource utilization ineffective and inefficient. Hence the scheduling process needs an automated scheduling system that can easily schedule their medical duties. Therefore the study will ascertain the possible solution by design and implementation of automated medical duties scheduling owner in the Family Medicine Department of G.P.C. . The study will contribute to the development of software that will help health workers to schedule their medical duties. Hence benefit health workers, administrators and patients to prevent the following; scheduling conflicts, optimizing staff productivity, and improving overall hospital management
