Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has revolutionized the education landscape, necessitating the development of innovative solutions for remote teaching and learning. This paper presents the design and implementation of a Web-based Virtual Classroom System with the objectives of providing a user-friendly interface, incorporating interactive features, ensuring security and privacy, and integrating with different hardware and software platforms. The research methodology involves utilizing WordPress as the platform for building the virtual classroom system. A WordPress Learning Management System (LMS) plugin is chosen as the foundation, and a series of steps are followed to configure and customize the system. The virtual classroom system incorporates essential functionalities such as video conferencing, live chat, screen sharing, white-boarding, and file sharing. Additionally, integration with popular video conferencing tools is achieved to enhance the system's capabilities. User roles and access levels are defined to manage content and activities within the virtual classroom. The course layout is carefully designed, and course content is organized in a structured manner. Rigorous testing is conducted to ensure the system's functionality before launching it for users. This paper describes a virtual classroom system that provides a seamless and immersive learning experience for students and facilitates communication and collaboration with teachers. Built on a client-server architecture, the system supports features such as video conferencing, real-time chat, document sharing, white-boarding, and screen sharing. The system is implemented using open-source technologies, making it easy to deploy and maintain. This solution represents a viable option for delivering education remotely in situations where physical attendance is not possible.
