ABSTRACT

Access to reliable electricity, particularly in rural communities, remains a pressing challenge in today’s interconnected world. To address this issue, this project endeavors to design and construct a Solar-Powered Mobile Phone Charging Station tailored to the unique needs of rural communities. The primary objective is to harness solar energy as the primary source while minimizing costs by eliminating the use of batteries. The solar charger is the cornerstone of this project. A very detailed and thorough literature review reveals the critical role of solar chargers in efficiently capturing sunlight and converting it into electrical power for charging mobile devices. Key components such as various types of solar panels and charge controllers are explored in detail. Additionally, the project talks about the buck converter, which enhances the efficiency of energy transfer from solar panels to mobile devices. By optimizing the power conversion processes, the project aims to ensure a consistent and reliable energy supply, even under varying environmental conditions. The solar-powered mobile phone charging station is an eco-friendly and sustainable solution that offers accessibility to power in remote regions. The utilization of solar energy, coupled with advanced charge control and conversion mechanisms, positions this project as a promising endeavor to bridge the energy divide in rural communities. Through meticulous design process, rigorous testing and adherence to best practices, the project strives to impress not only the supervisory team but also the wider academic and rural communities. The anticipated impact of this project extends beyond its immediate application, highlighting the potential for renewable energy solution to empower under-served populations world.
