ABSTRACT

IoT systems enable communication between humans and machines, and that's possible because there has been an increase in the usage of GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) in embedded systems design. As a result, researchers are building smart refrigerators to improve nutrition and energy efficiency in conventional resources. However, these systems target higher-income businesses and limited communities as luxury consumers because the design, simulation, and implementation of GSM-Based remote control and monitoring of refrigerators are complex and expensive. This project aims to develop an inexpensive refrigerator control system and a mobile app that allows users to monitor and remotely control specific parameters (its temperature, as well as power cuts) in refrigerators. The mobile application for this project was designed using Google‟s Flutter framework, Dart programming language and Blynk API. The application was interfaced to the Wi-Fi module in the ESP32 microcontroller. The Blynk API provides structured data channels between the ESP32 firmware and mobile application. At the end of the project's development, marketers, food vendors and the society should be able to use the refrigerator remote monitoring and control system to monitor the refrigerator's temperature remotely, as well as cut power supply remotely.
