ABSTRACT

Although University of Benin (UNIBEN) students are able to physically vote for their leaders, the current voting mechanism necessitates students to physically travel to the polling booth and entails extensive paperwork. In order to finish the drawn-out voting procedure, students must present their credentials to the administrators and election officials at the polling places. After they have verified the information supplied, the students are given ballot papers. Due to the tedious and timeconsuming nature of this process, more students are missing school to vote. The introduction of the student e-Voting system, which offers a simpler method of voting without requiring physical presence, helped to resolve these issues with students' ability to cast ballots. Several methods and techniques were used to accomplish the project's goals. Data flow diagrams were used in the project design in order to achieve the goal. The system for goal two was created with HTML, PHP, CSS, and MySQL. By asking users to verify whether the system satisfies their needs, the system was validated. The system's users validated its scalability (90%) user authentication (95%) efficiency (95%), effectiveness (90%), user friendliness (85%), and flexibility (95%), according to the validation results. In light of the results, the researchers advised that the system they had created for student e-voting be adopted and implemented in order to conduct effective and efficient remote e-voting of student leaders utilising a variety of internet-connected devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
