ABSTRACT

An online bookstore is an e-commerce website that sells books online. The Design and Implementation of Online Bookstore" project aims to provide a platform for customers to search for and purchase books online based on books titles, authors and topics. Its functions include catalog management, customer accounts, inventory management, order management and shopping cart. It provides users with a catalog of different books that can be purchased in the store, classified into the department of Computer science (400 level). Through a web browser, customers can search for a book by title or author, add it to the shopping cart and finally use a credit card transaction or other card transaction (such as Mastercard, Visa or Verve) to make a purchase. The system uses a backend database and a web browser as a client interface to implement. Using the following tools: Hypertext preprocessor (PHP) programming language, XAMP server ((X) multi-platform, Apache, MariaDB, PHP and PERL), MySQL and PHP CURL database management system, A user friendly, flexible and reliable website for online book sales was developed.
