ABSTRACT
This project presents the design, development, and implementation of UniShare, a material sharing platform designed for the University of Benin. The primary objective of UniShare is to streamline the process of accessing and sharing educational resources among students and faculty, thereby enhancing collaborative learning and academic success. This platform leverages advanced web technologies, including Node.js for backend development, Next.js for frontend development, and Firebase for database management, to create a responsive and robust system.
The implementation phase involved translating detailed design specifications into a functional platform through a structured approach encompassing frontend and backend development, system integration, and deployment. Key features of UniShare include user authentication, file upload and download capabilities, search functionality, and user profile management. The system's performance, security, and reliability were rigorously tested to ensure it meets the highest standards of usability and accessibility.
The evaluation of UniShare highlighted its significant impact on facilitating easy access to educational materials and promoting collaborative learning. Recommendations for future enhancements include improving user interface design, strengthening security measures, optimizing system performance, and expanding platform features.
UniShare successfully addresses the challenges of material sharing in an academic environment, providing a valuable resource for the University of Benin community. The platform's development underscores the importance of user-centered design, iterative development, and adherence to best practices in software engineering. This project not only contributes to the academic resources available at the University of Benin but also sets a precedent for future educational technology initiatives.
