DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPUTERIZED LIVESTOCK MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY OF A POULTRY FARM)

ABSTRACT

This project deals with the network of livestock but focuses on the information of the livestock and how they interact with the physical environment. The poultry industry plays a pivotal role in meeting the global demand for high-quality protein sources. To enhance the efficiency and productivity of poultry farms, there is a critical need for advanced information management systems. This project, "Design and Implementation of Computerized Livestock Management Information System," focuses on developing a comprehensive solution to address the specific requirements of poultry farm management.In this study, we conducted a thorough review of existing livestock management information systems and identified the significance of adopting technology in poultry farming. We employed a systematic methodology to design and implement a computerized system tailored to the unique needs of a poultry farm. The system integrates data collection, processing, storage, and analysis, empowering poultry farm managers with real-time insights for better decision-making.The problems were identified after series of interviews and observation after which analysis was made and a computerized system was recommended.  The new system was designed using PHP, HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT and MySQL as database.
