ABSTRACT

The Expense tracker system is a simplified web-based application created to enhance the process of expense tracking and financial management. It addresses the challenges of tracking expenditures, managing budgets, gaining insights into spending patterns, and offering users a user-friendly platform for achieving financial control. Key features of the expense tracker system includes a sleek and intuitive interface which ensures that users can effortlessly navigate and interact with the system, expense tracking which makes sure that users can quickly and accurately record expenses, categorise them thereby facilitating transparent financial record-keeping, budgeting which helps users establish budget goals, and mobile accessibility that allows the system to be available through web browsers which helps users track their expenses on the go. The benefits of the expense tracker system are substantial. They include efficiency, cost reduction, enhanced financial awareness, and accessibility. This project is implemented using HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheet), and JavaScript programming languages because these programming languages are accessible on a wide range of devices and browsers making them cross-platform compatible, also these programming languages are open-source and widely adopted, reducing development costs. And the test run for this is contained in Appendix A.
