ABSTRACT
This project explores the implementation of an e-wallet payment system for transportation within the University of Benin Leveraging QR code technology. Traditional payment methods for campus transportation often involve cash transactions, which can be inefficient and aid widespread of diseases. The adoption of an e-wallet system aims to streamline payments, enhance convenience, and improve transaction security. By utilizing QR code technology, the system enables quick and contactless payments, reducing the need for physical currency and minimizing the risk of fraudulent activities. This project covers the design and development of the e-wallet application, the integration of QR code functionality, and the deployment of the system within the campus transportation network. User education and support mechanisms are emphasized to ensure smooth adoption and operation. The anticipated outcomes include increased efficiency in payment processing, enhanced user experience, and greater financial inclusion for the university community. This project not only modernizes the transportation payment system but also sets a precedent for similar implementations in other campus services.
