ABSTRACT

There has been a growing demand for efficient and expedient methods to authenticate certificates to mitigate the prevalence of certificate fraud and streamline the laborious and time-consuming process of manual verification. Currently, employers or others with a vested interest must personally visit or send a representative to schools to authenticate a specific certificate. Unfortunately, some employers have neglected to do so, leading to the inadvertent acceptance of counterfeit certificates. Verification is the act of confirming the truth, accuracy, and/or validity of anything, such as the verification of official documents. The document we are referring to in this study is the academic certificate. In the prototype developed for this study, users can initiate the verification process for certificates via the academic portal. The front-end user interface of this prototype is developed using HTML, CSS, and JAVASCRIPT, while PHP is utilized for data collection. The database is managed by MySQL. We have created a prototype that enables users to request the verification of academic certificates by providing the candidate's surname, certificate number, and year of graduation.
