ABSTRACT
In every nation, the health care industry is expanding rapidly. One of the most important processes in this industry is online appointment scheduling. This project is focused on developing an online appointment scheduling system for the University of Benin (UNIBEN) health centre.
The project title as “PATIENT APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING SYSTEM FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF BENIN HEALTH CENTER” is a web based application. It enables students to quickly schedule a consultation before visiting the health centre.
The system contains two main modules:
One module is the application designed for the patient that includes a login screen. Before the patient can access the application, he or she must first register. The patient can request an appointment on the day and time of his or her choice after logging in. The patient will receive an automated email confirming the reserved day and time slot.
The second module is the admin module. The admin also has access to the patient's information and appointments. This will make it possible to retrieve the patient's records and hand them to the doctor before the patient even arrives.
