ABSTRACT
With the progressive evolution in technology there have been a steady recede in the effort required to produce work, with superior designs which has beneficial and economical effect to achieve suitable outcomes with diminishing effort. Power screw perform the primary obligation and effort of transforming rotary motion into translator motion, as epitomizing as the screw jack, in which little known horizontal force hoists or decline a substantial load. Operating akin to an inclined plane, the mechanical advantage of a screw jack is established by the proportional value of load to effort applied. Alteration of the jack's height is expedited by a mechanical motion of a lead screw, engineered either manually or through the efficient operation of an electric motor. The entire module of the device is basically invented on a base plate which usually have a relatively good resistance to deformity, this preceding design is to ensure adequate improvement to weight balancing in the course of handling the motorized jack. This project explicitly gives a wide knowledge in the the fabrication of a motorized screw jack by incorporating an electric D.C motor in the screw in order to make load hoisting effortless as regards to the position of the jack. In this elucidated design, the spinoff of the connecting motor device enables the operational motion of the power screw by through the use of a universal joint and gear axle which are basic components that connects the power screw and the motor, the jack is however plugged to an automobile 12 V battery source to generate power for the prime mover (motor), which ultimately relays motion to the power screw, the rotating speed transferred to the power screw is rotated with required speed reduction and increased torque substantially needed to drive the power screw. The utmost significance of this project is basically to meet the need of introducing a car jack which has a reliable form of motor operating condition in order to make the operation of using car jacks easier, safer and more reliable in order to reduce health risks especially back ache problems associated with doing work in a bent or squatting position for a long period of time. The motorized screw jack is easy to use by women or whoever had problem with the vehicle tyres along the road. It will also save time and requires less human energy to operate. Based on results, the project provides a motorized jack able to effectively lift a load of 750kg to 1000kg and also provide a safe usage during maintenance of vehicle.
