Abstract
The economic viability as well as technical analysis of a standby gasoline generator system in comparison with photovoltaic hybrid power system has been analyzed for energy demand through sensitivity approach. the solar PV hybrid system pays back its investment cost within five years and saves a huge amount of money and greenhouse gas emission. the main advantage of this solar PV hybrid system involving Felicity battery inverter is that it can deliver the required amount of energy directly from PV without discharging the battery as far as enough solar radiation is obtained. This increases the lifetime of the battery and also prevents the frequent start and stop of gasoline generator consequently saves the fuel cost of the system. from the result of the analysis and design, it is concluded that PV/battery standby hybrid power system is feasible in terms of economics as well as technically. it has also less greenhouse gas emission and therefore reduces negative externality of diesel generator.
