ABSTRACT
This project entails the design and construction of an automatic load management system. It finds it application in injection substations and in solar installation facilities as well as homes for optimal utilization of available electrical energy.
The feeders in the distribution network are set for numbers of hours to be in service and when the time elapse, the particular feeder will be automatically taken out of service and immediately, another feeder will be restored to service and this leads to balanced load management.
The system is implemented using Atmel AT89S52 microcontroller, Real time Clock (RTC) DS1307, relays and other electronic components.
The system was designed, constructed and tested and found to perform satisfactorily. Feeders were restored and taken out of service at predetermined time.
