ABSTRACT

The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology with monitoring systems has revolutionized various industries by providing real-time data acquisition and analysis. This project presents an in-depth exposition on the design and construction of IoT-based monitoring systems employing passive infrared (PIR) sensors for motion detection and battery monitoring for efficient power management. The primary objective of these systems is to enhance security, energy efficiency, and operational reliability across diverse applications such as smart homes and environmental monitoring. PIR sensors are widely utilized due to their low cost, low power consumption, and high sensitivity in detecting human presence or movement within their vicinity. By leveraging IoT connectivity, data collected from PIR sensors can be transmitted wirelessly to centralized servers for processing and further action.

In addition to motion detection, battery monitoring plays a crucial role in ensuring batteries are not overly discharged by initiating a shutdown process when the battery reaches a predetermined threshold. Battery health and performance are monitored in real-time, allowing for predictive maintenance and timely interventions to prevent system downtime. Through continuous monitoring, potential issues such as battery degradation or failure can be identified early, thus, prolonging the lifespan of the batteries.
