ABSTRACT
Deep cycle batteries are the unsung heroes of modern energy storage, quietly powering everything from renewable energy systems to marine applications. This study embarks on a journey to demystify the world of deep cycle batteries, aiming to unravel their performance characteristics and efficiency secrets. The aim of this study is to provide comprehensive insights into the intricate behavior of deep cycle batteries, shedding light on their capabilities, effects with respect to depth of discharge and potential improvements. This study elaborates on deep cycle analysis. The major problem faced by deep cycle battery users is that they don’t properly understand the concept of depth of discharge and state of charge and the effect they have on battery life and longevity. The modified model of the deep cycle battery can save battery capacity up to ten times more than its normal battery performance and based on this, users of deep cycle battery will be able to utilize this system more effectively. The methodology used to design this system is analyzing a deep cycle battery, using a testing device for calculating its depth of discharge and state of charge. Collating and computing the results graphically using Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet.
