ABSTRACT
These medicinal plants (Brillantisia owariensis, Asystasia gangetica and Elytraria marginata) are used in the treatment of different ailment and diseases by traditional birth attendant (TBA) in some part of the country. These plants are dicotyledonous and have been studied cytologically and phytodermologically. Phytodermologically the plants are amphistomatic. Cytologically chromosome counts could not be determimed. Two stomatal types were encountered, which are diacytic and paracytic. Also the species under experimental investigation studied have wall pattern which are wavy and straight and their stomata sizes differs but were found with medium stomata sized. No correlation could be drawn from their habits and size of stomata. Eglandular trichomes were observed on the adaxial surface of Brillantisia owariensis and stomata abnormality in Elytraria marginata.
