ABSTRACT
This research investigates cyber security threats and management strategies affecting service delivery in Nigerian academic libraries. Utilizing a questionnaire-based approach, the study examines prevalent cyber security threats, their impact on service delivery, current management strategies, and proposed enhancements to improve service delivery.
Case studies from Ambrose Alli University Library, Igbinedion University Library, and Benson Idahosa University Library provide context-specific insights. Findings highlight malware, phishing, and data breaches as key threats, leading to service disruptions and compromised data integrity.
Current strategies include firewalls, antivirus software, and staff training, but resource constraints and expertise gaps hinder their effectiveness. The study recommends, Training for staff, regular risk assessments, and collaboration with cyber security experts to enhance cyber security measures and ensure uninterrupted service delivery in Nigerian academic libraries.
