SUMMARY

Throughout the preceding chapters one cannot help but see so many reasons why the Nigeria-Biafra Civil War took place as a result of incompetency from the part of the Nigeria government and their inability to balance things that could cause strife among people of same country although different tribes. Consequently, chapter two of this long essay gives some emphasis on some of the reason for the war like cultural divide and according to the definition, cultural divide is the virtual barrier caused by cultural differences that hinder interactions, and harmonious exchange between people of different cultures and through the use of characterization and narrative techniques in the novel Half of a Yellow Sun and how it led to the cultural divide which eventually led to the war. In one sense, chapter three writes about the collapse of a cultural institution which is also known as the collapse of the Nigerian government. Through the novel, we were able to see instances of how this institution collapsed and it is as a result of corruption like tribalism, nepotism and ethnicity that’s why the governmental system collapsed.
