ABSTRACT
One of the Challenges the Nigerian State is having is constant uprising of violence, and the inability of its leaders to manage this uprising effectively has halted the development of the country. This work attempts to give a critique of Frantz Fanon concept of violence and to convey the relevance of his thought to the problem of political, social and economic instability in contemporary Nigeria. This research therefore employs a critical method as it does not intend to present Fanon's position as the most logical argument for social and political consideration of the notion of violence, but rather it intends to point out the ills in Fanon’s position on the subject matter and the importance of abolishing it in the current state of Nigeria as it shall effectively point out the effect of heeding to Fanon’s belief on violence Nigeria. This research will also recommend the way out of the various uprising plaguing the country currently so as to usher in a just and egalitarian society.
