ABSTRACT
The goal of this research is to establish cost saving as the economic criterion for evaluating drilling bits by analyzing their performance using a cost per foot equation. using the AST-1 well and AST-2 well from the ASARAMATORU field as a case study. These wells are situated onshore in the southern swamp section of OML 11 in the Eastern Niger Delta area. Four SEC Bits, Three HTC Bits and One REED Bit were used in AST-1 Well while in AST-2 Three SEC Bits and Three HTC Bits were used.
