ABSTRACT

Hygiene is a major problem of Nigeria, take for example, during the corona virus period, it would be unwise for people to still go to the market where crowd would be inevitable to get what to eat. Also, there is no defined mode of measurement of this food stuff sold, which would either be at the advantage of the seller and a disadvantage to the buyer or even vice versa. There is therefore a need to develop a mechanical system which can help curb the spread of diseases and also to assist garri vendors with the problem of manual and incorrect measurements of products, creating a unique balance of volume in and across garri marketers nationwide.

The method of getting this work done, involves studying and analyzing the design of already existing similar vending machine and then constructing such a vending machine from locally available materials. Although the scope of this work doesn’t go beyond the construction of a garri dispensing machine, a number of other systems that will help in demonstrating the end result will be incorporated in the work.
