ABSTRACT
This study has conducted to examined the contribution of Big Joe Motors to the development of road transportation in Nigeria from 1989 to 2020. The study also looked the development and importance of the road transport sector in Nigeria. It focused on the history of the establishment of Big Joe Motors in Nigeria. Its contribution to development of road transportation in Nigeria, and examine the problem and challenges of Big Joe Motors as a transport Company. The study found that transportation, which is the movement of people, goods and information from one location to another, is said to be as old as man. Human beings have been known to have the desire to move from one place to another on the earth’s surface carrying with them, food, property and culture depending on the technology available to them and what they can afford at the particular point in time. For many centuries of human existence, mankind has technologically developed various forms and modes of transportation.
