ABSTRACT
Storage and display spaces in an ideal textile studio provide the avenue for protecting the fabrics from degradation and adequately showcasing the fabrics. This situates the textile studio as a perfect environment for entrepreneurial innovations Unfortunately, the textile storage and display in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts University of Benin does not have such storage and display facility. This has made it imperative to construct specially adapted compartments for storage and display of textile. The thrust of this study is to solve the problem of improper care, storage and display of textiles works. A comparative study of display and storage facilities in Art Schools, Galleries and Museums was done to determine the most appropriate concept for the construction of the specially adapted compartments. It is hoped that the success of this study will avail the textile students the opportunity to properly showcase their creative abilities and ensure that their products are well preserved for posterity.
