ABSTRACT
Since ancient time man has pondered about he’s place in the universe this curiosity has lead him to study the universe and space outside the confines of he’s planet leading to the creation of the field astronomy, with one face synonymous with the study man’s ability to view the stars and other astronomic bodies, but in recent years with the increase in anthropogenic activists this has led to emission of light from various activities, with this leading to light pollution, obstructing humans ability to view the universe, this paper highlight the various causes and effect of light pollution on various field like astronomy and ecology, with the aim of raising incentive to light pollution. Chapter three deals with the design of the sky quality meter using tsl237 and tsl2591 sensor, with the photometric calibration constant calculated and noted in the results and finally application of the devices are discussed in both astronomy and ecology
