ABSTRACT

The art of learning is more effective when conducted in a suitable environment. A studio is a workshop of artists; The 400 levels Textile design section in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, University of Benin lacks adequate light boxes and an organized studio space for an effective studio functionality and delivery. It is on this singular premise that the 2019/2020 graduating students, decided to take up the challenges of refurbishing the studio to make it more suitable for learning and working. This will be done by providing the studio with the required materials such as lockers, light box or tracing table, fixing electrical problems, etc. It is hoped that when these facilities are put in place the studio will inspire as well as boost the performance of students and creativity both in the present as well as future textile design students in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, University of Benin
