ABSTRACT
University of Benin textile studio has the issue of congestion and inadequate space with poor ventilation, lack of washroom, poor storage facilities for hazardous chemicals which are harmful to health, insufficient water supply are the problems impeding good studio practice; as a result of increasing population of students.; hence the communal initiative of Textile Students of 2016/2017, 2017/2018 2018/2019 sessions proffer a solution to the problem. It is important to note that an ideal Textile studio should have a large section that requires enough working space with some basic studio equipment, tools and furniture put in place for students to explore their artistic prowess.
For a complete and an ideal textile studio, the Textile students of 2020/2021 embark on the construction of a multi-purpose pieces of furniture for the textile studio that would help students carry out and express their artistic abilities.
Having identified the problem of unavailability of basic studio equipment, tools and furniture in the current textile studio, this research is aimed at completing and providing the missing link for an ideal textile studio which was started by 400level textile Students of 2016/2017, 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 session.
