SUMMARY
The construction of the specially adapted compartment for storage and display of textiles has greatly broadened my knowledge in the area of textile conservation and display. Employing the service of a furniture maker gave me an insight to the art of furniture making, the preventive measures to enable the durability of furniture. The compartment is specifically fashioned to meet the unique needs of preserving and showcasing textiles, such as fabrics, and other textile-based items. The primary goals of the project are to enhance the longevity and aesthetic presentation of textiles while also providing practical accessibility for user. The specially adapted compartments are designed with features to protect textiles from environmental factors that can lead to deterioration, such as humidity, UV light, dust, and pests. This also involves sealing mechanisms to keep textiles in optimal condition.
