ABSTRACT

This study takes a look at conflict resolution in a business organization with particular focus on bat oil and petroleum. Some of the objectives of the research include, identifying the causes of conflict in organizations, determining the effects of conflict in organization and identifying ways of preventing and resolving conflict in organizations. Primary data were used to obtain information from staff analysis done using Chi-square. From the analysis, it was discovered that, poor salary structure, lack of good communication system, non involvement of workers in policy making decisions in the organisation can all lead to conflict between management and workers. Also, effective communication is a good conflict resolution mechanism. From the findings made, we recommended that, management of organizations should ensure that good and adequate salaries are paid to their staff members, a good and effective communication system should be put in place to avoid conflict in the organization, Management should ensure that they have a harmonious working relationship with trade unions where available in their organizations.
