ABSTRACT

The issue of user interaction is critical to the operation of robotic systems. This makes HumanMachine Interfaces (HMI) a pivotal component that connects users with robotic systems, allowing for control and monitoring of these systems. This project endeavors to utilize MATLAB to design a conceptual HMI for an Ant Mimicking Robotic Conveyance Vehicle (AMRCV), allowing efficient communication and control of the robot. The steps taken in designing the HMI included data collection, algorithm generation, drawing flowcharts, coding, and testing. During the data collection stage, thoughtful consideration was given to the GUI, the types of software to use, and interaction with other units to gather information on the signals to be exchanged. The coding process involved writing the code for the interface, with MATLAB documentation playing a crucial role as it provided most of the codes and instructions. Testing the interface meant running it, removing and adding blocks of codes based on the results and the desired outcome before documentation. Before the design phase, communication with other units was established to understand their requirements, particularly in the data collection stage
