ABSTRACT
This research work titled “The Concept of Life after Death among the Ondo people of Yorubaland” investigates the Ondo people's perception of life after death within the Yoruba ethnic group in Nigeria. It explores their cultural and religious beliefs, analyzing how these beliefs shape their understanding of existence beyond the physical world. Through traditions, rituals, and religious practices, the Ondo people view death as a transition rather than an end, with ancestors remaining influential in the lives of the living. This research work examines the importance of ancestor worship, beliefs in reincarnation, and the role of rituals in facilitating a smooth journey to the afterlife. It also discusses the impact of modernization and Christianity on traditional beliefs, emphasizing the resilience of cultural heritage amidst changing societal norms. This exploration offers insights into the intricate web of beliefs surrounding life after death among the Ondo people, reflecting the ongoing human quest for spiritual significance.
