ABSTRACT
This research examines the importance or effectiveness of community theatre in the context of development, whether social, individual or community development. The methodology adopted for this research was history and sociology methods of research and also textual analysis with secondary source from books online, article and similar project as reference. This works centers on community theatre in relation to its effectiveness in facilitating behavioral and community development, the approaches, the forms and also the challenges taking cognizance from a previously conducted project tagged "Campus Palava" analysing the project to check for change and showcase the effectiveness of community theatre in addressing campus issues in general so as to achieve development. Most people don't attribute change or development to theatre, this study therefore tends to showcase community theatre as a tool for change. This project tackles the challenges and issues in hostel and campus in general.
