ABSTRACT
The study thus concludes amongst others that, community policing improves citizen perception about the police. The study further concludes that, perceptions that officers apply the law unevenly based on a person’s race, ethnicity, or other personal characteristics affect security. It was also concluded that, community policing is the bedrock of community partnership in creating safe and secure environment for all. Also, the study asserted that, inadequate manpower has been a major obstacle confronting effective community policing. The study also concludes that, poor incentives and weak operational strategies demoralize the police efforts in the fight against crime in Oredo Local Government Area.
