ABSTRACT
The study investigated community involvement in school activities and school climate in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and examined. The sample size for the study was made up of 100 respondents. The questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. The descriptive survey research design was adopted in carrying out the study. An analysis of data was done using mean and standard deviation. The findings from the study include that regular attendance of PTA meeting, fundraising activities, involvement of host community in decision making, volunteering activities and assistance of host community in providing additional classroom blocks constituted the various ways of community involvement in school activities in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. It was concluded that there is high extent of community involvement in school activities in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. The study recommended among others that there should be orientation of host communities where schools are located on their responsibility of participating in decision making process in schools.
