ABSTRACT
This study explores the communication exchange among project stakeholders in Edo State. The objectives were to: access the information communicated among project stakeholders during project execution, determine communication methods used by project stakeholders in the construction industry, determine the factors affecting communication exchange among project stakeholders in the construction industry and examine the effect of communication exchange among stakeholders on the delivery of construction projects in the Edo State construction industry. The purposive sampling technique as used to administer copies of the structured questionnaire on professionals in the Edo State construction industry. Data obtained were analyzed using the mean item score technique and ranked. Design and engineering specifications with a mean score of 5.0 was the highest ranked information communicated among project stakeholders in the construction industry. This is followed by project schedule, payment terms and special conditions . The least ranked information is safety and quality standards. Furthermore, findings indicate that non verbal communication is hardly practiced in the construction industry. Also, one of the major effects of communication among project stakeholders is easy flow of information and the prevention of errors and safety issues.
