From the foregoing, it is obvious that colonialism greatly influenced the roles of the Umuada society in Udi Community. Before the colonial period, Umuada Society made up of courageous and hardworking daughters of Udi land had roles that could be grouped into six important roles: the role of Umuada in the growth of the traditional Udi economy, the role of peace and conflict resolution, preservation of Udi customs and traditions spiritual duties, the role of Umuada in Burial and traditional marriage roles. In the agricultural sector, the Umuada provided labour for farming which involved bush clearing mound making, crop planting, Weeding and crop harvesting. While in the non-agricultural sector, Umuada controlled the sale of these items such as the locally produced products like products of smiths and products of wood cavers at Eke market. This is significant as the Umuada exhibits the quality of being patience as the conduct of sales at the market demanded patience on the part of the seller.
