ABSTRACT
The study examined how cloud accounting impacts the financial reporting quality of Nigerian Commercial Banks. It focused on several factors including the adoption rate, accessibility, security, and user satisfaction with cloud accounting. The research utilized a survey design, gathering primary data through structured questionnaires from six commercial banks and accounting practitioners. By employing a robust Ordinary Least Square regression analysis, the study found that the adoption rate of cloud accounting showed a insignificant positive impact on financial reporting quality. On the other hand, accessibility of cloud accounting exhibited a insignificant negative impact, while the security level and user satisfaction with cloud accounting both displayed significant positive relationships with financial reporting quality. Thus, we concluded that cloud accounting has significant effect on the financial reporting quality of Nigerian Commercial Banks. Based on these findings, the study recommended that banks embrace cloud accounting tools to leverage their potential benefits, emphasizing the importance of investing in secure cloud accounting platforms.
